Dans le cadre d&rsquo;une \u00e9tude \u00e9cologique, cette technique permet d&rsquo;identifier les esp\u00e8ces dont le cycle biologique comprend des\u00a0<strong>phases benthiques\u00a0<\/strong>(attach\u00e9es) et des\u00a0<strong>phases planctoniques<\/strong>\u00a0(libre), de d\u00e9nombrer les individus des diff\u00e9rentes esp\u00e8ces, afin de\u00a0<strong>suivre la succession des populations<\/strong>\u00a0au cours du temps, et d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer l\u2019\u00e9volution de l&rsquo;\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me.\u00a0\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darse.fr\/images\/stories\/claire\/sciences\/col_piege_schema.jpg\"><br \/><\/a>Pi\u00e8ge \u00e0 particules<sup>Pi\u00e8ge \u00e0 particulesPhoto L. Guidi\u00a0<\/sup><br \/><\/em><strong>Les pi\u00e8ges \u00e0 particules<\/strong>\u00a0sont de grands entonnoirs filtrants d\u00e9pos\u00e9s sur le fond. Ils permettent de collecter l&rsquo;ensemble des particules provenant de la\u00a0<strong>colonne d&rsquo;eau<\/strong>. Ces collecteurs de particules sont utilis\u00e9s par les g\u00e9ologues pour \u00e9tudier la\u00a0<strong>s\u00e9dimentation<\/strong>\u00a0min\u00e9rale, et par les \u00e9cologistes pour \u00e9tudier la composition du plancton en organismes et d\u00e9finir le rapport entre particules organiques inertes (micelles, f\u00e9c\u00e8s) et particules min\u00e9rales. Andersen<\/em><\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0<br \/><br \/>Un<strong>\u00a0filet \u00e0 plancton\u00a0<\/strong>est fait d&rsquo;un c\u00f4ne de tissu de nylon dont les\u00a0<strong>dimensions et la maille<\/strong>\u00a0sont d\u00e9finies en fonction du\u00a0<strong>type de plancton \u00e0 r\u00e9colter<\/strong>. L&rsquo;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 de ce c\u00f4ne est \u00e9quip\u00e9 d&rsquo;un\u00a0<strong>collecteur\u00a0<\/strong>qui recueille les particules et les organismes vivants. L&rsquo;ouverture du filet varie de quelques d\u00e9cim\u00e8tres \u00e0 environ deux m\u00e8tres, tandis que la longueur est comprise entre un et dix m\u00e8tres. Apr\u00e8s la p\u00eache, la collecte doit \u00eatre d\u00e9licatement transf\u00e9r\u00e9e dans un bocal et rapidement achemin\u00e9e au laboratoire. Le filet peut \u00eatre associ\u00e9 ou non \u00e0 des\u00a0<strong>capteurs physico-chimiques<\/strong>\u00a0(enregistrant la pression, vitesse, temp\u00e9rature&#8230;).\u00a0<strong>Tract\u00e9 par un bateau<\/strong>, le filet permet de\u00a0<strong>collecter les organismes dans une couche d&rsquo;eau<\/strong>\u00a0selon un trait horizontal. Leur positionnement \u00e0 la profondeur souhait\u00e9e et leur fermeture sont command\u00e9s automatiquement.
